The use of Structural Insulated Panel’s within buildings provides high acoustic performance and when lined with plasterboard or similar materials, further improvement in performance can be achieved. Structuralinsulatedpanels (SIP) have standard details of required construction methodology to achieve levels of sound reduction required by the Building Regulations. We can also offer for your guidance the following considerations: Description Double skin SIP partition system with 19mm gypsum plank and 12.5mm gypsum fire wallboard, directly fixed to one side only. Single skin SIP partition system with 12.5mm gypsum sound board directly fixed on one side and fixed to timber battens on the other side.
